Description

Jacquard Cyanotype Set

Art with the power of sun! Sunprinting is based on the cyanotype process, which has been used by artists since its development in the 19th century.

About this product:

  • Consists of two bottles, each of them with chemicals for creating cyanotypes;
  • Part A: Potassium Ferricyanide—A red iron salt used with Ferric Ammonium Citrate for cyanotype;
  • Part B: Ferric Ammonium Citrate—A light-sensitive iron salt used with Potassium Ferricyanide for cyanotype;
  • Made in the USA.
Suitable surfaces Preparation and use Good to know
Cotton, linen, silk, canvas, wood, paper and leather.
  1. Fill the bottles with water and leave for 24 hours until the powders fully dissolve.
  2. Mix equal parts of Solutions A and B.
  3. Coat the surface and let it dry in the dark.
  4. Place a sheet of glass or acrylic on top so that objects or the negative lie flat and don't move during exposure.
  5. Expose to sunlight or a UV lamp for 1 to 30 minutes (depending on conditions).
⚠️ Once Solutions A and B are mixed, the sensitizer must be used within 2–4 hours. Rinse without soap – soap and phosphates can turn the print yellow. Glass works best. If you use plastic, make sure it lets UV light through – without it, the print won't develop.
